Abstract

This paper discusses the State of Madinah, founded by Prophet Muhammad , which is a perfected prototype of welfare that would rely on the Charter of Madinah. It brings out the comprehensive nature of Islam on administration, covering justice, education, economic stability, and the rights of women, minorities, and non-Muslims. The Charter guaranteed equality, social justice, accountability, consultation, and peaceful coexistence. Women were accorded their new status of dignity, education, and social participation, revolutionary at that time. The paper encourages contemporary Muslim nations to purge the teachings of the Madinah model and inculcate the Charter into their academic and policy preparation.

Keywords: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), State of Madinah, Charter of Madinah, Islamic Governance, Legal Equality, Social Justice, Women’s Rights, Rights of Non-Muslims, Accountability, Shura, Islamic Economy, Religious Pluralism.
