Abstract

The waseb of Punjab is full of diverse tradition and historical roots. Punjab was deeply influenced on women’s life by their costum culture and traditional laws. Sometime these culture and traditional laws are badly influenced at women’s life. In many tribes of Punjab where wani, sura suri, karokari, are traditional habits. These traditional habits are damaged women’s life. Punjabi people give respect the women but some time they avoid to give fundamental rights to women like education, property rights, wedding rights etc. On the other side our Pakistani laws and our religion laws give all rights to women. In Punjab life of women varies significantly between rural and urban areas, though historical trends show a patriarchal society with women historically dependent on male family members. The government is actively working to improve women’s lives through legislation law 2016. Protection of women against violence act, and policies focused on skill development, employment and socio-economic uplift.
