Abstract

A study of the Quran and Sunnah reveals that the lives of the Prophets peace be upon them)
serve as a great example and source of guidance for humanity. They dedicated their entire
lives to spreading the oneness of Allah, the message of Tawheed, and the elevation of morals
and character. Among their methods of Dawah invitation to Islam), debate—meaning
reasoned argumentation and discourse—emerges as an important intellectual and practical
approach. The method of disputation was not merely a tool of invitation but a strategic style
through which the Prophets responded scientifically and logically to various beliefs,
superstitions, and social misconceptions.In numerous places in the Holy Quran and the
Prophetic traditions Ahadith), details of the Prophets’ disputational conduct and style are
found, reflecting their wisdom, patience, ethics, and strategic acumen. This approach was not
confined to mere argumentation or intellectual contest but was driven by a lofty purpose of
Dawah and a broad vision for social reform. The Prophets always supported their statements
with strong evidence and simultaneously maintained forgiveness, good conduct, love, and
respect toward their opponents.This scholarly study aims to elucidate the characteristics of
the Prophets’ method of disputation, which formed the foundation of their success in the field
of Dawah. These traits not only reflect the Prophets’ intellectual strength, wisdom, and
patience but also embody a method of invitation that serves as a guiding light for preachers
and missionaries of every era. The primary objective of this research is to clarify the depth,
philosophy, and practical patterns of the Prophets’ disputational strategies in the light of
Quranic and Sunnah texts, so that an intellectual and effective response can be provided to
the modern challenges of Dawah and preaching.This investigative and analytical study will
also highlight the measures by which the Prophets not only prioritized rational and intellectual
arguments but also understood the emotions and psychological aspects of their opponents to
engage in effective dialogue. It will include a comparison of their sayings and actions, an
assessment of their argumentative techniques, and the ethical standards that underpinned
their disputational style. Furthermore, it will examine how the Prophets’ method of
disputation contributed to achieving the objectives of Dawah and how they set exemplary
models in both intellectual and ethical spheres.By learning from the Prophets’ disputational
approach, we can benefit today in sectarian, intellectual, and religious debates so that we not
only attain high levels of knowledge and wisdom but also deliver our message effectively with
good ethics and tolerance. Therefore, this study is not merely a historical and religious analysis
