Abstract

Environmental issues have become a fundamental global challenge in the contemporary era. Industrial development, materialism, and moral degradation have disrupted the natural balance of the Earth. Addressing this crisis requires not only scientific solutions but also ethical and spiritual approaches. The Holy Qur’an provides a comprehensive moral framework through the concepts of human vicegerency (Khilafah), the balance of nature, and the prevention of corruption on Earth (Fasad fi al-Ard), which obligates humans to act responsibly within the cosmic order. This study analytically examines environmental ethics in the light of the Qur’an and demonstrates that Islamic environmental thought not only advocates for the protection of nature but also considers it a form of divine worship. The paper also presents a comparative analysis of Qur’anic principles alongside modern global environmental goals and policies.
