Abstract

A human being takes certain traits and characteristics in his instinct and opens his eyes under the shadow of certain customs and traditions in this society. Among the best qualities that have been counted among them are the feelings of mercy, mutual compassion and love, self-sacrifice and philanthropy. In all of them, philanthropy is a trait that is distinguished by religion, color, caste and nationality. Ashfaq Ahmed has also presented many such creations in Urdu literature which reflect the universality.His short story "Gadriya" covers the subject of migration and riots, it also reflects enlightenment and philanthropy in a rich way.
