Abstract

This article examines the economic challenges encountered by contemporary Muslim women migrants, focusing on issues such as employment discrimination, wage gaps, lack of economic autonomy, and socio-cultural barriers. Drawing on Islamic teachings, the study highlights how these challenges not only affect individual women but also their families and broader communities. The research underscores the importance of economic empowerment for Muslim women, citing Quranic verses and Hadith that affirm women's rights to financial independence and active participation in economic activities. Examples from Islamic history, such as the entrepreneurial endeavors of Hazrat Khadijah (RA), are presented to illustrate the compatibility of Islam with women's economic roles. The article proposes practical solutions rooted in Islamic principles, including the establishment of interest-free financial institutions, effective implementation of Zakat and Sadaqat systems, and policy reforms to eliminate gender and religious biases in employment. It also calls for community-based awareness programs and vocational training to enhance women's economic participation. The study identifies gaps in existing research, particularly the lack of Islamic perspectives on migrant women's economic issues, and suggests future directions for interdisciplinary and region-specific studies.
